John A. Serpa, MD, DDS, DABA
A leader in the South Florida Interventional Pain Medicine community for 10 years is a doctor with a passion for cutting edge procedures and treatment while maintaining the traditional values of medicine.
He is board certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology with Subspecialty Certification in Pain Medicine. He is also deeply involved with the relatively new field of Palliative Medicine.
Dr. Serpa got started on his path with very humble beginnings, attending and graduating with honors from both Medicine and Dental Schools at U.C.E. in the Dominican Republic. He then went on to internship at St Joseph’s Hospital in Syracuse, NY, Anesthesiology at University of Miami/ Jackson Memorial Hospital, and Pain Medicine at Cornell University/ New York-Presbyterian in NY.
In 2009, after working in two large Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine practices, Dr. Serpa decided to branch out on his own. He established his current private practice in Hialeah, Florida. He has received numerous accolades, and awards and is considered a thought leader in his field.
Lillian P, MA
Lily is an energetic office manager and certified Medical Assistant, with an excellent knowledge base and clinical skills. She also understands and works with most of our major insurance carriers, assuring our patients are covered for the vast majority of necessary care and procedures. Lily is the point person for most of our patients. She will be starting her education as Physician’s Assistant in 2011.
Monique O, RN BSN
An emergency room nurse with 10 years of experience. She is a pain management resource nurse at Baptist Hospital. Monique is a huge patient advocate and certified in BLS, ACLS, and trauma. Monique brings her special energy and leadership to our pain group serving as part-time office manager since our opening.
